HE Interior Minister chairs Bahrain delegation in Interior Ministers meeting in Riyadh

His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa chaired Bahrain's delegation in the 39^th meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Gulf Interior Ministers in Riyadh on Wednesday.

HE Interior Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud Minister of Interior of brotherly Saudi Arabia, chairman of the current session, for the excellent reception and organisation of the meeting. He highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise and experiences between Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

He noted that the current regional and international circumstances and the extraordinary conditions require security solidarity and qualitative action to enhance security cooperation among the GCC states.

He added that strengthening the common approach to enhance security stability and public safety is a strategic imperative that requires maintaining security readiness to face the surrounding risks.

The meeting reviewed security topics in the agenda that contribute to reinforcing joint Gulf security cooperation.

Their Highnesses and Excellencies Interior Ministers reviewed the recommendations of GCC Interior Ministries' Undersecretaries related to mechanisms to link traffic fines, in addition to the latest of the Interior Ministries' security networks, the annual report of Forensic Information Centre to fight illicit drug and the unified strategy to tackle the effects of addictions.

They also discussed reports on the joint tactical exercise of Gulf security authorities (Arabian Gulf Security 3), organised by the Saudi Interior Ministry this year, and the preparations for the upcoming exercise (Arabian Gulf Security 4).

HE Interior Minister was accompanied by Bahrain Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Interior Ministry Undersecretary and senior officers.
