The Health Transformation Advisory Committee announces information sessions for Shäw Kwä’ą/Health and Wellness Yukon/ Santé et mieux-être Yukon

This is a joint news release between the Government of Yukon, Council of Yukon First Nations and the Yukon Hospital Corporation.

The Health Transformation Advisory Committee is made up of representatives from the Government of Yukon, Yukon First Nations (supported by Council of Yukon First Nations), and the Yukon Hospital Corporation and they are hosting Shäw Kwä'ą/Health and Wellness Yukon/Santé et mieux-être Yukon public information sessions in Dawson City, Whitehorse and Watson Lake. These sessions aim to provide information to Yukoners, offer a platform for questions and answers, and hear feedback on the creation of a Yukon Health Authority.

The proposed legislation to create Shäw Kwä'ą/Health and Wellness Yukon/Santé et mieux-être marks a significant milestone for the Yukon. It is an important step as we continue to work towards a transformed, integrated and collaborative health and social system that is culturally safe, anti-racist and focused on the needs of all Yukoners. The engagement of the community and health care professionals is critical in this transformative process.

Each session will include a short talk about the creation and development of the health authority and a question-and-answer period with members of the Health Transformation Advisory Committee.
