Félix Bolaños analyses the damage caused by the latest wave of fires in Asturias

Luarca, Asturias

Félix Bolaños was able to visit some of the areas devastated by the fire at this time, where the first outbreaks occurred.

During his visit, Bolaños conveyed the Government of Spain's support for the Autonomous Community, as well as its commitment to its reconstruction. The minister explained that the executive will address the declaration of a catastrophe zone for the affected areas as soon as possible. "The Executive will work hand in hand with the regional government to restore normality to the areas that have been affected by the actions of heartless people who are capable of burning the forest", he insisted.

Bolaños also wanted to highlight the value of public services and the importance of the "safety net" that protects citizens in the worst moments, alluding to the Military Emergency Unit, Civil Protection, forestry brigades and State Law Enforcement Forces and Agencies that have been working for weeks to extinguish the fires.
