#AllenStrongerTogether: Celebrate our community’s kindness, resilience and care for each other

In Allen, we understand that strength isn't measured by individual successes, but by our collective ability to uplift and support one another. Whether lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need or rallying behind a cause close to our hearts, we're not just #AllenStrong. In Allen, we're Stronger Together.

We invite you to celebrate our community's resilience, unity, care and compassion with #AllenStrongerTogether. Kicking off in April, this new initiative aims to foster connection and strengthen community bonds through events, activities and behaviors which embody the true Allen spirit. From neighborhood cleanups to safety classes to encouraging messages chalked on the sidewalk, get involved and help build a strong future together in Allen!

April 1-19: Used Book Dropoff: Donate the gift of reading and storytelling to the community! The Allen ISD Council of PTAs is collecting used books for their book drive on April 25-27. You can drop off your books in the front lobby of Allen City Hall, and the entryways of both Terrell Recreation Center and Joe Farmer Recreation Center.

April 3: National Walking Day: Invite a friend or neighbor to take a stroll through your neighborhood or plan a trip to one of Allen's incredible trails.

April 4: Spring 2024 Citizens Fire Academy begins: Offered every spring, this 8-week course gives Allen residents the chance to learn about firefighting - straight from Allen firefighters! Look for photos from this year's class on our Facebook page.

April 6: Coffee with the Chief: Grab a cup of coffee and sit with Allen Police Chief Steve Dye as he talks about Allen Police Department and some of the department's programs and challenges. Chief Dye will also listen to concerns and suggestions from the community at the end of the event.

April 6: Chalk the Walk at Allen Public Library: Join art students from Allen High School as they create beautiful chalk art on the sidewalk outside Allen Public Library. Chalk will be provided to those who want to contribute!

April 6: "Cultural Connections: Vietnam" by Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus: The Allen Philharmonic celebrates Vietnamese music and culture at this concert.

April 8: Solar Eclipse Party at Stephen G. Terrell Community Park: Join your neighbors and witness this extraordinary celestial event at Terrell Recreation Center.

April 9: Blood Drive at Credit Union of Texas Event Center: Donate blood to save a life! More details on this blood drive will be shared soon.

April 9: Allen Police Department RAD class begins: Learn basic self-defense skills in this free 4-week class from Allen Police Department. Registration for this class will open in early April.

April 17: Allen Police Department Condition 6 class begins: Join Allen Police Department's free fitness course! This twice-a-week class meets outside at beautiful Allen Station Park.

April 20: Great American Cleanup: Help keep Allen beautiful by properly disposing of trash and recyclable materials at this annual event.

April 27: Understanding Trauma Program at Allen Public Library: Debbie Clark, Clinical Supervisor of The Center for Healing, will discuss the causes, responses, and mitigating factors of trauma, as well as how to identify and talk about trauma and tragedy with children and adults.

April 28: Pay it Forward Day: Whether it's paying for someone else's drive-thru order or simply holding the door open, there are plenty of ways to pay it forward and

April 29: Community Stop the Bleed class: Learn how to perform life-saving actions from Allen Fire Department in this free community class. Registration for this class will open in early April.
