Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division is enabling the digital wallet, Google Pay, as a payment option for customers for their utility bill and Gift of Comfort donations, starting Monday, May 16.

MLGW My Account customers can add Google Pay as a method of payment; Google Pay can also be used for Gift of Comfort donations (Gift of Comfort allows anyone to give any dollar amount on a specific customer's account). Like other payment methods, there is no fee to the customer or donor.

Google Pay is a mobile service that enables users to make contactless payments without using a physical Visa or Mastercard. Google Pay can be accessed through the Google Play store on an Android-enabled device.

Once signed into the app, the user can setup a preferred payment method which is where transactions will happen every time Google Pay is used.

Customers who sign up for the My Account electronic bill payment service can view and pay their bill online; Gift of Comfort donations can be made here: mlgw.com/giftofcomfort.

Google Pay cannot be used to pay a utility bill with MLGW Authorized Pay Agents. For additional payment methods and options, visit here: mlgw.com/residential/yourmlgwbill.

MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 440,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
