SCDOT to temporarily close Peachoid Road in Cherokee County as part of I-85 Widening Project

​Columbia, S.C.(April 16, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close Peachoid Road in Cherokee County beginning on April 23 as part of the ongoing widening and reconstruction of I-85. The road will be open to local traffic only. The closure is expected to last two months.

The detour route will utilize Chesnee Highway (SC 11) and Whelchel Road. A map of the detour can be found below.
