AUSTIN, Texas - A faculty member at The University of Texas at Austin has received the University of Texas System Board of Regents' highest honor for teaching.

Paul Bonin-Rodriguez has been named a recipient of this year's Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award. The award, presented annually since 2008, recognizes undergraduate faculty members who have demonstrated extraordinary classroom performance and innovation.

"We are thrilled that Professor Bonin-Rodriguez has received this honor," said Sharon L. Wood, executive vice president and provost. "During his time at UT Austin, he has been an outstanding member of the academic community and an inspiration to his students. This recognition exemplifies the University's values and commitment to teaching excellence, and we look forward to seeing Professor Bonin-Rodriguez continue to propel his students' academic success."

Bonin-Rodriguez is an associate professor and graduate adviser in the College of Fine Arts' Department of Theatre and Dance. After an extensive career as a producing artist and nonprofit administrator, he came to UT in 2006 where he now researches and teaches classes focusing on systems of support and training for arts professionals.

He joins an exclusive group of 14 other faculty members from across the UT System's academic and health institutions honored by the regents.
