The 200 Year Historic Journey Through World War II Germany to the Broomfield Wottge Open Space

Date: Tuesday, May 7, 2024
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Crescent Grange, 7901 West 120th Avenue

The 66-acre Wottge open space, located at 144th Avenue and Sheridan, is slated for enhancements including trails and native landscaping that were recently approved by the City Council. This Broomfield open space property is named after the Wottge family that has farmed this land since 1956. The story of the Wottge family goes back 200 years to their farm in Germany. Fred Martin, local historian, will present this epic story of courageous revival by a Broomfield pioneering family. Mayor Guyleen Castriotta will also participate in the presentation by video message. See a short history and video interview with Ben Wottge ($10 Donation Requested on behalf of the Crescent Grange).
