Major Detours Scheduled for Piner-Fulton Road Intersection Over Two Weekends

As part of the Fulton Road reconstruction project currently under way, the intersection of Fulton and Piner roads will be subject to major detours and road closures for the entirety of two weekends, from July 28-30 and August 4-6, 2023. Traffic closures and detours, which are required to repave the intersection, will be in effect both night and day throughout each of the weekends.

During the weekend closures, Piner Road will be closed to through traffic at Fulton Road in both the eastbound and westbound directions. The east side of Piner Road is planned to close to through traffic the weekend of July 28-30 and the west side will be closed the weekend of August 4-6 (see detour maps). Northbound and southbound lanes of Fulton Road will remain open at all times. Motorists travelling along these routes will be detoured to alternative routes, with signage alerting drivers to the detours. Drivers are cautioned to be alert for flaggers, signage, traffic cones, and redirected traffic. It is suggested that motorists avoid this area when possible, during the closures and detours.

This project will widen, reconstruct, and rehabilitate one mile of Fulton Road between Guerneville Road and Piner Road, transforming it into an updated, four-lane regional/arterial street, as well as provide many other improvements.
