Chairman Burgess Statement on the Passage of the Security Supplemental Package

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Rules released the following statement on the passage of the security supplemental package.

"President Biden's failed strategy of 'peace through weakness', does not work," said House Rules Committee Chairman Burgess. "The United States must stand behind our allies as they face a dark new world. Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine are all confronting emboldened adversaries who threaten their continued existence. Today, I voted to support the security supplemental package that will counter the violent aggression against our allies and condemn Iran's, China's, and Russia's remorseless, inhumane actions. President Biden's failed leadership destabilized and weakened our global security, leaving the free world to a cruel fate. Our adversaries are watching earnestly to see how America will respond and our allies are looking for us to stand with them as they fight for their nation and freedom. I'm glad the House answered the call to deliver critical defense assistance to our friends in need."
