Ashtabula County Recognizes National County Government Month

Building Stronger Counties for a Stronger Ohio

JEFFERSON, Ohio

The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners recognize April 2024 as National County Government Month during April to highlight how local leaders work to build healthy, safe and vibrant counties for the people they serve.

"Counties are the state's partner in delivering critical services such as justice and public safety, infrastructure, social services and much more," Kathryn Whittington, Board President said. "We want to take this opportunity to recognize National County Government Month and to celebrate the ways our government connects, inspires and leads every day- within our community and in collaboration with our county, state and federal partners."

"County government plays very diverse roles in our daily lives," said, J. P. Ducro, Board Vice-President. "As Commissioners, we embrace our commitment to nurture our county's health, safety and vitality and celebrate the dedication and innovation of local leaders who work tirelessly to pave the way for a better tomorrow."

"National County Government Month is an opportunity to highlight the work that is done every day to improve the lives of Ohioans and to celebrate those who make it all possible. Ashtabula County has a lot to offer and we hope that residents explore the many ways their county serves them and helps to make it a great place to call home," added Commissioner Casey Kozlowski.

The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners encourages all county officials, employees, schools and residents to participate in county government celebration activities to raise public awareness about county roles and responsibilities.
