RELEASE: OPM Announces Finalists for Presidential Management Fellows Class of 2024

Washington, D.C. - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced the Finalists for this year's Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program, the federal government's premier leadership development program. In total, 825 Finalists were selected from more than 7,000 applicants from around the world.

"Presidential Management Fellows are the next generation of federal government leaders," said Kiran Ahuja, Director of OPM. "The PMF Program gives Fellows the leadership skills and exposure they need to make a difference in government and an impact within their community. Congratulations to all the 2024 PMF finalists. We cannot wait to see what you will accomplish in public service."

OPM verifies that all PMF Finalists are qualified at the GS-9 level but agencies may also appoint Finalists at the GS-11 or GS-12 or equivalent after further verifying their qualifications. Throughout the next year, Finalists will have the opportunity to interview with federal agencies across government to find placements as Presidential Management Fellows.

  • 14% of the 2023 Finalists are veterans.
  • PMFs are appointed to a two-year, full-time federal position with salary and benefits, where they apply their skills while engaging in leadership development training that includes experiential learning, cohort-based interactive training, and optional rotational experiences.
  • The PMF Program offers advanced degree holders a pathway to a permanent career appointment at a federal agency. Over the last few years, on average, 87% of Fellows took a permanent or term position following completion of the two-year program.
  • The program supports federal agencies government-wide in fulfilling leadership succession planning goals and helps build a core of potential leaders for the federal government.
