Pelosi Statement on the Passing of Senator Bob Graham

Washington, D.C. - Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the passing of former Senator Bob Graham of Florida:

"It was with the deepest respect and sadness that I learned of the passing of Senator Bob Graham: a patriotic American and a great Member of the United States Senate. It was my privilege to work closely with him when he was serving as Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. He sponsored and led the Congressional Joint Inquiry into 9/11, and he bravely opposed entry into the war in Iraq. He brought his love for his family and for his state of Florida to the Senate, where he served with immense dignity and courage.

"Paul and I extend our sympathy to his wife, Adele, his daughter Gwen - our former colleague in the House - and to his entire family, with gratitude for his distinguished public service. May it be a comfort to his loved ones that so many Americans mourn their loss and are praying for them at this sad time."
