Red Lanterns Illuminate Chang'an Street! Festive Landscapes in Place in Beijing

Asthe Spring Festival isapproaching, alively and festive atmosphere is growing more and moreintense.

The Spring Festival and Lantern Festival landscapes in Beijing have been put in place in general. The Spring Festival landscapes this year can be found on nearly 1,000 main streets and over 3,000 back streets and alleys, being the most extensive in size and richest in content in recent years.

This year's Spring Festival and Lantern Festival landscapes incorporate Chinese cultural elements including dragon and its totems, with Chinese red being the dominant hue, complemented by warm colors like yellow and gold, so as to evoke a sense of home and warmth for citizens and visitors in the city.

The city's main streets boast linear landscapes adorned with lanterns, tree lights and other decorations. Over 250,000 lanterns, lights, and other decorative items, along with approximately two million linear meters of tree-wrapped lights, more than 220 featured landscapes, 74 decorated overpasses, 2,809 landscape lighting fixtures, 12 groups of nighttime illuminations, and seven laser projections have been set up.

On the 23rd day of the twelfth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, known as the Preliminary Eve in northern China, Chang'an Street in Beijing was adorned with red lanterns and Chinese knots, radiating a vibrant and festive atmosphere for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

"Look, a panda!" An adorable panda peeking out from the corner of a building instantly caught the eye of onlookers. Beijing Department Store has crafted captivating naked-eye 3D animations for the upcoming Spring Festival. These animations consist of five short movies that play continuously on the building's large screen from 10:00 to 22:00.

Wangfujing

To enhance the beautiful and recreational touch of the Spring Festival landscapes, Beijing has incorporated various technologies like 5G network, AR, and naked-eye 3D displays, among others, to display innovative traditional elements such as electronic fireworks. Venues like Wangfujing, Sanlitun and SOLANA have embraced glasses-free 3D electronic screens that showcase stereoscopic images. Additionally, 12 areas including Beijing Olympic Tower, Wangjing building cluster, and CBD have introduced multi-point AR-powered displays during the Spring Festival holiday. Alongside these innovations, the scenic waterfront views along the Grand Canal and Liangma River, as well as the areas surrounding the Second Ring Road, are adorned with dynamic lights and impressive laser projections on the facade of prominent buildings.
