The Menomonee Valley Partners, MobiliSE, Near West Side Partners and Palermo's Pizza will hold a Community Walk for Transit Advocacy on Friday, April 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting at Palermo's Villa, Inc. (3301 W. Canal St.). Participants will shuttle to the future BRT hub at 27th Street and Wisconsin Avenue to begin the walk.

Register online.

During the 1.2-mile, one-way community walk, participants will experience what a Valley employee may experience when taking transit to work. There will be three stops along the route where participants will make observations of the existing conditions for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Following the walk, a discussion will be held at Palermo's Pizza where participants can chat about their experience and brainstorm ideas for pedestrian, bicycle and transit safety enhancements. Pizza will be provided.

Insights from the discussion session will be collected and contributed toward future advocacy efforts for safety improvements along the corridor.
