IDEC Celebrations and Observations in October 2023

The City's Inclusion Diversity Equity and Awareness Commission honors federally recognized heritage and history months throughout the year as part of our commitment to building an inclusive community that values diversity.

In October, we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day on October 10, which celebrates the invaluable contributions and resilience of Indigenous peoples, recognizes their inherent sovereignty, and commits to honoring the Federal Government's trust and treaty obligations to Tribal Nations.

In October we also celebrate:

• German-American Heritage Month
• Filipino-American Heritage Month
• Italian-American Heritage Month
• Polish-American Heritage Month
