Brown Delivers Sewer Improvement Project in the City of Parma

WASHINGTON, D.C - Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced an investment for the City of Parma to improve sanitary sewer service to residents on Valley Villas, York, and State Roads. This project will address failing septic systems and install a new sanitary sewer system for homes in the area.

"Up-to-date sewer infrastructure is critical to the health and well-being of Ohio families as well as to local communities' ability to create jobs and compete," said Brown. "This investment will have a significant economic impact for residents of Parma."

The current sewer system contaminates the West Creek Watershed and the Rocky River Watershed with E-coli and coliform. Contaminants eventually end up in Lake Erie - the main source of drinking water for the Cleveland area. Completion of this project will create a sanitary sewer system that mitigates contamination of these water sources, eliminating public health and safety threats. Brown secured investment for this improvement project through Congressionally Directed Spending.
