Boulder - The Colorado Department of Transportation is sharing preliminary designs to address transportation challenges along the Colorado Highway 7 (also known as Arapahoe Road) Multimodal Corridor Segment B, between 63rd Street and US 287 in Boulder County.
A series of educational videos are available on the CDOT website that highlight examples of the early design concepts along CO 7 Segment B, shaped by community input from fall 2023 and past feedback. The videos offer an overview of specific areas along the corridor. Watch the videos under "Proposed Preliminary Design" at codot.gov/projects/studies/co7-brighton-boulder/segmentb.
"We're very thankful for the feedback received so far. The comments about community needs, concerns, values and areas of conflict helped refine the overall preliminary design and recommendations," said CDOT Regional Transportation Director for Northeast Colorado Heather Paddock.

The CO 7 Multimodal Corridor Segment B between 63rd Street and US 287 is in the preliminary engineering study and environmental phase. Funding partners include Boulder County, Denver Regional Council of Governments, and other local municipalities. The partnership is a joint effort with the CO 7 Coalition and through a successful Transportation Improvement Program application with local agencies matched funding. As part of the preliminary design phase, the project team will identify infrastructure costs that help us pursue funding to construct the improvements in the future.
Travelers are urged to "know before you go." Gather information about weather forecasts and anticipated travel impacts and current road conditions prior to hitting the road. CDOT resources include:
