YPN Member Spotlight: Meagan Cirivello, Director of Shelter Initiatives at Humane Society of Sonoma County

YPN member spotlights are a quick introduction to some of our favorite YPN members. This month, we're spotlighting Meagan Cirivello, Director of Shelter Initiatives at the Humane Society of Sonoma County.

What brought you to Sonoma County, and why did you join YPN?

I came to Sonoma County about 5 years ago to be closer to some of my family. I joined YPN because I saw it as an opportunity to connect with other people who are doing great things in our community!

What would you like other members to know about you, either personally or professionally?

I have worked professionally with animals for about 10 years now. I have worked with both companion animals and farm animals - dogs, cats, goats, sheep, chickens, horses, cows, ducks, pigs, and more! I love working with all species, but I have a real soft spot in my heart for sheep! They are probably my favorite animals to work with.

I deep sea scuba dive!

What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?

My favorite type of adventure is camping and backpacking! I have backpacked through Yosemite, all around Utah, and most recently up the Humboldt coast!

What are your favorite Sonoma County/Santa Rosa activities?

Most of my favorite local activities involve hiking with my dog and exploring new trails and parks
