Free Route Airspace to be extended in 2024

Austro Control is considered a pioneer in Europe when it comes to the implementation of free route airspace. Since 2019, the airspaces of Austria, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia have been connected with SECSI FRA. The further expansion in March 2024 will create one of the largest cross-border free route airspaces in Europe.ces in Europe.
